Your guide to using FAU's Interlibrary Loan services

How To Place A Request

Branch Campus Delivery Requests are placed via your ILL Account.

1. If FAU owns the material you need but it is shelved at a different campus, you can have it pulled and shipped to your local campus to pick it up. Currently you will need to place an ILL request using your ILL Account. Sign into your account to place the request.

2. Once you are signed in, click on New Requests on the navigation bar to open the drop down menu, then click on Book to open a blank Book Request form.

3. Fill in the form with the Title, Author, and Call Number information along with any other information you have on the item. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on Submit Request.

4. Your request has now been sent to the ILL Office. As soon as it is ready for you to pick up, you will receive an email. If you have any problems, please contact the ILL Office for help.

Key Points

  • If the item is available at the Boca Campus Library, Boca Raton library patrons may put in a Paging request to have the item pulled. All FAU Boca Library Paging requests are handled by Access Services. You may find their eForm here. For any questions, please contact Access Services at lycirc@fau.edu or call 561.297.6911 for more information.
  • If the item is available at the Jupiter Campus Library, Jupiter patrons may fill out a Request to Pull form to have the locally held material pulled.
  • Please note the Paging and Request to Pull forms are only intended for local patrons to request local materials. If the item is not held at your local library, please use the Branch Campus Delivery service via your ILL Account.
  • If we cannot locate the item, then we will go ahead and convert this request into an ILL request and seek it from another library.
  • If the item you are requesting is on reserve at the other branch, is lost, or is checked out, we will not be able to pull it for you. Go ahead and place the request, we will seek a copy for you from another library.
  • Items will be kept on the hold shelf for you for two weeks. After that, it will be sent back to its home library branch.
  • Broward campus students will need to pick up their materials from the Boca Campus Library. Broward faculty who have an office may request to have material shipped to their office via intercampus mail.
