Core Library Services at Your Fingertips

One-on-one research consultations and orientations are available to Florida Atlantic University faculty to support your teaching and research needs

Florida Atlantic University faculty are invited to schedule library instruction sessions to support their courses and enhance student research skills.
Library Liaisons: An academic department's first point of contact and personal guide for assistance with library services and resources
Liaisons are available to attend departmental faculty meetings and are eager to learn more about each faculty member's scholarship, research and creative endeavors. Liaisons build and develop collections in all formats and work with departments to identify academic program needs. In addition, liaisons can assist faculty with information on copyright, scholarly communication, and identifying low or no-cost (open) educational resources, often referred to as OER.

Library liaisons are also available to assist with research, instruction, and outreach, and can meet with patrons face-to-face, online, by phone, or in an instructor’s classroom.
Research Assistance: Ask A Librarian
The "Ask a Librarian" service on the FAU Libraries website provides personalized research assistance through multiple contact options, including chat, email, and phone, to help students and faculty navigate library resources effectively. It offers access to expert librarians for research consultations, FAQs, and instructional support to enhance academic success.
Faculty Guidelines for FAU Course Reserves
Course Reserves at FAU provide faculty with a way to make essential course materials readily accessible to students for use during the semester. Faculty can place books, articles, media, and other resources on reserve to support their courses, with loan periods set according to instructional needs. Items are typically available for in-library use, ensuring students have convenient access to key materials while complying with copyright guidelines. Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) at Florida Atlantic University allows faculty to access materials not available within the FAU Libraries by borrowing from a vast network of libraries worldwide. This service supports faculty research and teaching by providing books, articles, and other resources, with convenient delivery options including campus office delivery for Boca Raton faculty.

The Digital Initiatives and Scholarship unit at S.E. Wimberly Library is dedicated to advancing digital collections and supporting the research and scholarly activities of the FAU community. This unit facilitates access to unique digital resources, manages the institutional repository, and promotes collaboration and innovation through cutting-edge digital projects and services.
The Research Hub at the S.E. Wimberly Library is a collaborative learning space designed for graduate students, doctoral candidates, post-doctoral researchers, and visiting scholars. It offers a supportive environment where they can conduct research, develop experimental skills, and practice important academic activities such as teaching and presentation. This resource-rich space encourages collaboration and skill-building crucial for advanced academic success.
