Need to use a program? We can help with that.... |
The tutorials presented in this guide represent some of the software tools used by FAU researchers, postdocs and students for purposes ranging from creating graphics to organizing or visualizing collected data. The types of software include graphics programs, statistics analysis, data analysis, qualitative analysis and programming languages.
The information here is meant to give a description and introduction to the different software programs. Some of the software is open source or otherwise freely available, but much of it will require a subscription or purchase to use the program. Links to availability through FAU will be provided where they are available. Check with your department for software availability as well; many departments will purchase access to key software products for their faculty and students but must keep access to the software restricted due to licensing requirements.

Books in the Library
Not all of the software programs in this guide are available through FAU. The FAU Virtual Apps page lists the software that is available to all FAU students and faculty. Additional software programs may be available through specific colleges and departments and on the computers in the FAU Computer Labs. Software programs may be discontinued or added at any time and may vary by location, so check with OIT or the appropriate department to verify what software is available for use.
