Florida Atlantic University has many services and organizations whose mission it is to serve the disabled. We suggest you start with the Student Accessibility Services office. FAU Campus Recreation (Rec) The Department of Campus Recreation encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities in all programs and services. To facilitate opportunities for people with and without disabilities to engage in recreational pursuits together, the Department of Campus Recreation provides inclusion support services, including -- but not limited to -- staff support and adaptive equipment. Additional requests for other accommodations should be made through the Membership Services office, Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-7 p.m, or via email at campusrec@fau.edu
FAU Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD) FAU CARD is the first step after an individual gets diagnosed with autism or after an individual has been determined eligible with the school district. We help bridge needs with resources and services for individuals with ASD. Mission of FAU CARD: FAU CARD provides expert consulting, training and support, at no charge, for all people across all race, ethnic, and gender groups, with autism and related disabilities, their families, employers, the professionals and community and governmental agencies serving them.
FAU Student Accessibility Services (SAS) The Student Accessibility Services' comprehensive academic support services include advocacy, academic accommodations, Assistive Technology equipment/software training, Assistive Technology Computer Lab, Learning Strategies training, and an active student organization. SAS has offices across three of FAU's campuses: Boca Raton, Davie, and Jupiter; however, accessibility services are available for students attending any of the six FAU campuses.
Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center The Center's mission is to meet the complex needs of persons with memory disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, and their families through a comprehensive array of services, compassionate and innovative programs of care, research and education.
