National Veterans Organization The National Veterans Foundation’s mission is to serve the crisis management, information, and referral needs of all U.S. Veterans and their families through: Management and operation of the nation’s oldest toll-free, vet-to-vet helpline for all Veterans and their families. Public awareness programs that consistently spotlight the needs of America’s Veterans. Outreach services provide Veterans and families in need with food, clothing, transportation, employment, and other essential resources.
U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs What is the history of the Department of Veteran Affairs? The origin story of the modern VA includes several previous entities and names dating as far back as the American colonies. To help understand that legacy, this site serves as the centralized digital location for VA’s history with the focus of educating about the special relationship between the nation and its Veterans, including how that has impacted society. Here there are various stories and exhibits that examine the individuals, institutions and innovations of the last 250 years. There have been multiple agencies that have provided the service and benefits to America’s Veterans, including the Bureau of Pensions, National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, National Cemetery System, Bureau of War Risk Insurance, Veterans Bureau, and Veterans Administration, all of which are referenced on the preceding pages.

Florida Department of Veterans Affairs (FDVA) With 1.5 million veterans, Florida is the most veteran-friendly state in the nation. The Florida Department of Military Affairs The Florida Department of Military Affairs (DMA) provides management oversight and administrative support to the Florida National Guard (FLNG). Directly responsive to the Governor of Florida, the Department operates within federal and state authorities' policy guidance and fiscal framework. The Department manages nearly 12,000 National Guard members, including over 2,300 full-time federal personnel and more than 450 state employees. Together, the DMA and the FLNG are committed to serving the nation's vital interests, the state of Florida, and its communities.
Veterans Florida Veterans Florida is a non-profit created by the State of Florida to help military veterans transition to civilian life and to promote Florida’s status as the nation’s most veteran-friendly state. Florida Military and Veterans Benefits Summary of Florida Military and Veterans Benefits: Florida offers special benefits for Service members, Veterans, and their Families, including homestead tax exemptions, state employment preferences, education and tuition assistance, vehicle tags, and hunting and fishing license privileges. Eligibility for some benefits may depend on residency, military component, and Veteran disability status. Florida County Veteran Service Officers: The Florida Department of Veterans Affairs has trained County Veterans Service Officers who can assist Veterans and their Families in finding and applying for benefits under federal, state, and local laws. All their services are provided free of charge.
