Mobile resource that help health care professionals facilitate clear conversations between healthcare provider, child, and family. Glossary terms and Preps provide developmentally appropriate explanations for children, and are available in Spanish. App reinforces teach-back techniques to ask both child and parent (only available in English); has pictures that show medical equipment used for procedure; and drawing boards containing an image the healthcare provider or child can draw on.

Improving Cultural Competence [Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (US)]
This Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) uses Sue's (2001) multidimensional model for developing cultural competence. Adapted to address cultural competence across behavioral health settings, this model serves as a framework for targeting three organizational levels of treatment: individual counselor and staff, clinical and programmatic, and organizational and administrative.

This website features information, continuing education opportunities, resources, and more for health and health care professionals to learn about culturally and linguistically appropriate services, or CLAS. Launched in 2004, Think Cultural Health is sponsored by the Office of Minority Health.
NIH: National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities | Health Information in Multiple Languages
This information portal leads to health resources from across NIH for selected priority health areas. The languages for each condition are chosen to reach populations with particular health disparities. Note that racial and ethnic indicators are based on the research data cited. Additional resources will continue to be added as they become available.

Health Information Translations
Health Information Translations provides education resources in multiple languages for health care professionals and others to use in their communities. Resources are easy to read and culturally appropriate.
Medline Plus- Español
Medline plus is available in Spanish, written specially for native Spanish speakers as opposed to a translation. Medical personnel can find a topic page on the English-language site and then toggle to the Spanish-language page by selecting the Español link.

FAU Resources:

The FAU Libraries provides resources which offer patient education in multiple languages.

Access FAU patient education resources via the Medical library page, https://library.fau.edu/medical.
Click the Library Resources option, located in the left navigation column.
To see all the resources we offer: within the light blue search box, use the "clinical practice" drop down to select "patient education." Click Apply.
Each gray box lists the languages the resource offers their patient education material in. Look under the "features" subsection for addition details.
