Mango Connect is an online self-paced language learning system covering over 40 languages and including 16 ESL classes taught in the native language. Each lesson combines real life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions.

Download the app to get your first language in any language for free. Link your profile to FAU Libraries to gain full access to Mango content.

  Medical Spanish

($ Cost) App provides a review of system questions, medical and social history questions and vocabulary words, phyical exam intructions and common phrases and expressions in Spanish. 

 

   Simply Sayin'

Mobile resource that help health care professionals facilitate clear conversations between healthcare provider, child, and family. Glossary terms and Preps provide developmentally appropriate explanations for children, and are available in Spanish.  App reinforces teach-back techniques to ask both child and parent (only available in English); has pictures that show medical equipment used for procedure; and drawing boards containing an image the healthcare provider or child can draw on. 

FAU Resources: 

The FAU Libraries provides resources which offer patient education in multiple languages. 

  1. Access FAU patient education resources via the Medical library page, https://library.fau.edu/medical. 
  2. Click the Library Resources option, located in the left navigation column. 
  3. To see all the resources we offer: within the light blue search box, use the "clinical practice" drop down to select "patient education." Click Apply. 
  4. Each gray box lists the languages the resource offers their patient education material in. Look under the "features" subsection for addition details.
