Center for Writing Excellence

The University’s Writing Center (WC) is devoted to supporting and promoting academic and professional writing for all members of the FAU community, including undergraduate and graduate students, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars.

The Writing Center will give online assistance or you may visit one of four campuses for  personalized instruction.

Citation Generators

RefWorks is one of the FAU software programs for citation generation. However, the following open source citation tools are also available.

It is highly recommended that you verify the accuracy of any citations produced by these tools using an official style manual.

Menedley is a free reference manager and an academic social network.  You will need to download this program to your desktop after registering.

BibMe is a free online citation creator that will store more than one citation at a time. It is user-friendly and allows you to search their database for your resource. Select the resource and the citation style, then a citation will be created automatically.

Noodlebib Express is a free online tool that creates only one citation at a time based on information you provide.
