GIS Application Examples

1. Pandemic/Public Health

GIS can be used to assess the spread of a particular pandemic or epidemic. The recent COVID-19 is a perfect example that each case can be used in pinpointing the site where a pathogen originated and determining which regions are affected most by this disease. This is extremely important for visualizing the dispersal of illness and assessing public health.
