Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service provided by the FAU Libraries to further the scholarly research of Florida Atlantic University's faculty, students and staff by obtaining library materials unavailable at our library.
The Boca Raton, Jupiter, SeaTech, and Harbor Branch campuses use the ILLiad system to request interlibrary and intralibrary loan requests.
During the course of your research you find there is a particular resource that FAU Libraries simply does not own in any format you can request through Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary loan uses a program to process your requests and find items at other libraries. Intralibrary loan will request materials that are located at other FAU branches. You can also use ILL to track your requests once they have been entered. Materials can then be picked up at Boca Raton or the branch closest to you.

UBorrow is a loan service that allows FAU students, faculty, and staff to directly request materials from participating libraries within Florida's state University/College library system. Currently, you can only request books via UBorrow.
How to Use UBorrow
When searching the FAU Library Catalog, click on the blue UBorrow link towards the top right corner of the search results page.
This will take you to the State University/College Libraries catalog, showing all the available items within Florida's university/college system.
If you want an item, click on the UBorrow icon below the book title, then provide your Owl Card number, and select where you want to pick up your book.
You will receive an email in a few days letting you know that your book is ready for you to pick up at the Service Desk at the library.

Use UBorrow to directly request materials from participating libraries within Florida's state colleges and universities.
If you have looked in the catalog and in the databases and still cannot find the material that you are looking for, or if you know the specific name of the book or article that you are trying to find that you know is not at FAU, you can use Interlibrary loan (ILL).
