Four of Pratt's novels were adapted into screenplays and made into feature films. Juke Girl (1942) was adapted from an article he wrote in The Saturday Evening Post titled "Land of the Jook." Mercy Island (1941) was nominated for an Oscar for Best Music Score. In 2011, a remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964) was being discussed at Warner Brothers with Richard Linklater as director.
