Union Navy soldier | Civil War

Letter from James Campbell (shipmate) To John Burke, November 12th, 1881

Letter from James Campbell (shipmate) To John Burke, November 12th, 1881

James Campbell writes to John Burke about the details of filing his pension claim and how difficult it was for him.  Express that he filed his claim in 1880 and has not yet received confirmation.  He does go into detail telling John how to fill out his own pension claim. He tells John to him that the notary public is a dollar. Tells John Burke to give them as many details as possible, and that it helps to have as many people to confirm where you were while serving in the navy.

James Campbell signed and asked if John would to know anything more.
