College of Medicine Affiliate Faculty & Residents Library User Guide: Getting started

Purpose of this LibGuide

Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine affiliate faculty & residents are entitled to access many of the library's print and online resources. This can be a great benefit for the practicing physician.

This guide was designed to provide quick access to the Medical Library's resources including point of care, practice guidelines, electronic journals, and health sciences databases. In addition to the electronic resources, the library houses a collection of medical books and print journals.

The medical librarians are here to assist you with your information needs. Feel free to call on us should you need training or help with using the library's resources.

FAUNet ID and FAU Email

Access your FAU account through the portal. Sign in to check your email and set up forwarding options. Don't know or remember your FAU NetID? Click "Forgot my FAUNet ID or password" to retrieve.

What do I need to access library resources?

Owl Cards are no longer required to obtain remote

access to the library!

EZ Proxy now includes

a field to enter either a user's FAU NET ID

OR their OWL card number to get access to our

electronic resources. All affiliates are given email

addresses when their paperwork has been completed

and thus can access our resources using just their

FAU NetID and password.

Affiliate Faculty who wish to check out physical (e.g. print)

materials from the library or to access additional OWL

card benefits such as local discounts, may opt to

request an OWL card by contacting Stephanie Gabrielsen.
