Welcome! This guide shares resources about disability & ableism for the medical field. It provides information specific to healthcare, as well as general background resources to understand disability & ableism as a whole within society. 

A Disability is any condition of the body or mind (impairment) that makes it more difficult for the person with the condition to do certain activities (activity limitation) and interact with the world around them (participation restrictions). (Source: CDC

Ableism is the discrimination or prejudice against individuals with disabilities. (Source: Merriam-Webster)
