Cultural Competance Education [AAMC]
To assist medical schools in their efforts to integrate cultural competence content into their curricula, the AAMC, supported by a Commonwealth Fund grant, has developed the Tool for Assessing Cultural Competence Training (TACCT). The TACCT reflects the input of experts in cultural competence and medical education. The instrument provides validated recommendations on curriculum content and should be used in conjunction with materials that identify optimal educational methods and evaluation strategies.
A Physician's Practical Guide to Culturally Competent Care [Think Cultural Health/ HHS]
a self-directed training course designed for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. With growing concerns about racial and ethnic disparities in health and about the need for health care systems to accommodate increasingly diverse patient populations, cultural competence has become more and more a matter of national concern. This e-learning program will equip health care providers with competencies that will enable them to better treat the increasingly diverse U.S. population.
