Bollywood is a term used to describe the Hindi film industry in India. It is typically characterized by dancing and music and it is this music which is the soul of a movie by weaving the story along. The plots are usually melodramatic and feature the stereotypical components such as star-crossed lovers, corrupt politicians, conniving villains, angry parents, and courtesans with hearts of gold. Bollywood films tend to be epics and lasting well over three hours because Indian fans expect the film to include all of the essential ingredients of theatrical performance.
